This Chardonnay showcases bright aromas of pear, melon, and peach. The palate is driven by notes of stone fruit, banana, vanilla, and a hint of buttered popcorn.\n \n Producer Information\n McManis Family Vineyards is a family-owned wine producer based in Ripon, a town near Modesto in California's Central Valley. It produces a wide portfolio of wine, encompassing many styles and varieties but is best known for the varietal Viognier. The estate has numerous vineyards stretching across the Central Valley and comprises some 526 hectares (1300 acres) of cultivated vineyard in the River Junction AVA – one of California's smallest. The McManis family successfully petitioned the US government for the recognition of River Junction's appellation status in 2001 and today they remain the sole producers in this AVA. The company was founded by Ron and Jamie McManis in 1990 and today, the land is planted to a selection of red and white wine grape varieties. The River Junction AVA vineyard is located at the meeting of the Stanislaus and San Joaquin rivers and is planted to Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Pinot Noir, Viognier and Muscat Canelli in sandy loam soils unique to the river basin. The estate's other vineyards within the Lodi region are planted in diverse soils ranging from the well-drained alluvial soils of the Borden Ranch appellation to the unique pink loam soils found in Jahant. Border Ranch provides ideal growing conditions for red wine grape varieties including Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, whereas the Jahant appellation is best suited to the growing of the estate's Pinot Noir, Petite Sirah and Petit Verdot.
