Aromas of dried bing cherries, blackberry jam, clove and black currant are underscored by subtle notes of peppercorn. The palate is bold and full bodied with flavors of raspberry, savory pastry, and balanced tannins and a long finish.\n \n Producer Information\n Kenwood Vineyards is a Californian wine producer, established in 1970 in the Sonoma wine county. Primarily known for consistency and value, Kenwood's wine portfolio is large and includes multiple collections. The most highly regarded range from the company is the barn series, inspired and named after the historic 1906 barn building on the estate property. Sourced from multiple vineyards within the Sonoma Coast, minimal intervention is used in the winery to produce this range of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir varietals. Other varieties produced include Sauvignon Blanc, Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot sourced from multiple appellations throughout the state. In the winery, minimal intervention is accompanied by a range of oak treatments and a diverse range of wines is created at various price points. The company was founded by the Lee family upon the purchase of the historic winery which and been successful prior to Prohibition. Kenwood Vineyards has since gone through a number of ownership changes, notably being bought by the California business F. Korbel and Bros in 1999. In 2014, Kenwood was bought by the international beverage giant Pernod Ricard. During that time production had gone from 300,000 cases in 1999 to more than 550,000 by 2014.
