In 2001 Alienor and Alexandre de Malet Roquefort fell under the spell of the Chateau Chapelle Maracan, which vineyards extend over the hills close to Saint Emilion. In 2009, the couple renamed the estate to Chapelle d'Alienor in reference to Alienor d'Aquitaine, Queen of France and then England. Possessing some of the best qualities of Saint Emilion, the Chapelle d'Alienor is one of the best values in red Bordeaux.
