In 1964 Françoise and Gérard POTEL arrived in Burgundy in the village of Volnay. At the time, Gérard was an agronomist and a demanding winemaker, and he succeed to convey his passion for the wine to his family. The POTEL’s started then producing high-quality Burgundy wines. They decided to focus their production on the pinot noir grape variety and to vinify only Premier Crus.
In the beginning, the family estate stretched from the villages Volnay and Pommard to Santenay. This estate quickly developed and became a renowned winery in Burgundy.
The wine trading company Maison Roche de Bellene was founded in 2008, a few years after the establishment of the winery Domaine de Bellene. Thanks to its winemaker network and its knowledge of the terroir, this company has been able to offer quickly a prestigious wine list.
The wine trading company offers a complete range of wines that have been aged and selected with the greatest care, preserving the terroir and its expression. Maison Roche de Bellene operates in 54 countries through a wide distribution channel, dealing with more than sixty appellations from several climates and vintages.
Today, this wine trading company is situated at the heart of the Côte de Beaune and located in a totally air-conditioned and modern buildings. These buildings are equipped with a vatting room, two cellars – one for the reds, and another for the whites - a warehouse, storage room for our capsules and labels, a labelling room and a shipping room. Our administrative and sales team is available to answer all the different needs of the national and international markets.
The Maison Roche de Bellene company is famous all over the world thanks to renowned journalists, wine tasting notes and reviews. Thus, our wines are sold in the most prestigious places and in the largest cities in the world.
