Pandora's Box Chardonnay is a California Chardonnay that is produced by the Pandora's Box Wine Company. The wine is made from 100% Chardonnay grapes that are grown in California. It is a light-bodied wine with flavors of citrus, apple, and pear. It has a soft acidity and a smooth finish.\n \n The wine is named after the myth of Pandora's Box. In Greek mythology, Pandora was the first woman created by the gods. She was given a box that she was forbidden to open. However, she could not resist temptation and opened the box, releasing all the evils of the world into the world. However, hope remained inside the box.Intense dark colour. Complex aromas with soft notes of red and blue berries, harmoniously intermingled with spices like black pepper, dark chocolate and subtle notes of vanilla and caramel.\n \n Producer Information\n Viña Ventisquero is a large Chilean producer founded in 1998 by Gonzalo Vial, owner of a large fresh food business. The Ventisquero group includes the Queulat, Clásico and Yelcho brands amoungst numerous others. Today, the company owns more than 1500 hectares (3700 acres) of vineyards in the coastal Maipo region – the location of the first holdings and of the winery – and the Casablanca, Colchagua, Leyda and Huasco (Atacama) regions. The Ventisquero portfolio includes a range of high-end wines, sourced from the best plots within the company's holdings. The Tara Altacama range includes varietal Viognier, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc as well as a Pinot Noir and a Syrah sourced from two seperate vineyards in Atacama. Here, a year-round desert climate allows vignerons to control yields with drip irrigation. Other notable wines in the collection include the Obliqua, a Carménère from teh Colchagua Valley as well as the Enclave Cabernet Sauvignon that is blended with small portions of Petit Verdot, Carménère and Cabernet Franc.
