This Cabernet Sauvignon opens with aromas of cassis and crushed berries. On the palate, flavors of blackberry, raspberry, cedar and tobacco are framed by firm, velvety tannins and a long, elegant finish.\n \n Producer Information\n Frei Brothers is a Sonoma County wine producer that makes a range of red and white varietal wines from around the area. It works with vineyard managers and growers to produce Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir from the Russian River Valley, Zinfandel and Merlot from Dry Creek Valley, and Cabernet Sauvignon from Alexander Valley. The estate's history dates back to 1890 when Swiss immigrant Andrew Frei purchased 139 hectares (344 acres) of vineyard land in Dry Creek Valley. His sons, Walter and Louis, eventually took over, officially naming the family winery Frei Bros. in 1903. The company was purchased by E. & J. Gallo in 1978 and remains within their holdings. Frei Brothers has maintained sustainable growing practices for over 30 years and is a certified participant of the California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance. In the winery, a combination of Hungarian, French and American oak are employed for the barrel-aging process of the Frei Brothers wine portfolio.
