The color is intense cherry red with garnet reflections. The bouquet offers powerful and voluptuous scents of roses and violets, aromas of crushed black fruit with smoky notes. Straight, the mouth reveals a crunchy and juicy juice on a mineral and silky structure. Fine and elegant tannins with a finish that lingers for a long time.\n \n Producer Information\n Domaine Rémi Jobard is a wine producer based in the town of Meursault in the Côte de Beaune subregion of Burgundy. The domaine's production is predominantly geared towards the ubiquitous local variety, Chardonnay, producing a number of labels from the grape across a range of quality levels, including Meursault village and premier cru. A small volume of red wines from the neighboring appellations of Monthélie and Volnay are also made. The estate was established by the eponymous Rémi (nephew of François Jobard) in Meursault in the mid-1990s. His first vinification, alongside father Charles, was in 1992, with the two working together until Charles' retirement (and Rémi's takeover) in 1996. Holdings include over two and a half hectares of Meursault villages-level sites (Sous La Velle, Chevalières, Narvaux and En Luraule), often bottled with their lieu-dit on the label. Jobard also has plots in the premier crus Charmes (0.2 hectares/0.5 acres), Genevrières (0.5 hectares/1.2 acres) and Poruzots (0.5 hectares/1.2 acres in Poruzots Dessus). These are all in Meursault although the domaine grows and produces Pinot Noir from Volnay Santenots and Vignes Rondes and Champs Fulliot in Monthélie. All vineyards have been organically certified since 2011. Jobard's winemaking is characterised by long and gentle pressing of his Chardonnay which is then fermented and matured in a range of large-format oak barrels for 12 months before blending and settling in tank for an additional six months. Red wines are fully destemmed and aged in oak, of which around one third is new barrels.
