Inkblot’s dark, deep violet hue poured into the glass entices you to explore the wine further. Layered aromas of blackberry jam, orange peel, pepper and worn leather showcase the wine’s rustic elegance. A rich, weighty and full-bodied Petit Verdot highlighting flavors of ripe black fig, raspberry and pepper.\n \n Producer Information\n Michael David Winery is a Caliornian wine producer, founded in 1984 by brothers Michael and David Phillips. The brothers represent their family's fifth generation growing grapes in Lodi with roots in the area dating back to the 1850s. During Prohibition, the family continued to grow grapes and sold bricks of concentrated juice with explicit warnings detailing the steps not to take in order to ferment and produce wine from the concentrate – an act that became lucrative while remaining technically legal. Michale David is now known for its value wines of which are produced under several different collections. Red varieties feature heavily, such as The Freakshow Cabernet Sauvignon and the Petite Petit red blend of Petit Verdot and Petite Syrah. The Reserve collection predominately exhibits varietal Zinfandel, but also includes a Bordeaux-blend, the Politically Correct of which spends 28 months in French oak barrels prior to release. Michael David Winery farms more than 200 acres (80 hectares) of estate vineyards. All of its vineyards are certified organic by third-party organizations and all of the fruit crushed at the winery is certified as sustainably grown.
