The Giovanni Corino is a family-run business located in the heart of the Piedmontese Langhe, specifically in La Morra. Here Giuliano Corino, helped by his wife Stefania and their two children, produces high-quality wines based on local grapes, with full respect for the territory.
This elegant Barolo is produced with 100% Nebbiolo grapes from the Arborina vineyard, exposed to the South-East, and located in the municipality of La Morra on clayey soil with grains of sand. After harvesting, the grapes are left to macerate on the skins for approximately 5-7 days. After vinification, the wine rests for 24 months in French oak barrels (35% new), then in steel for 6 months, and finally for a further year in the bottle.
The wine shows an intense color with ruby red tones and some garnet nuances. The nose is strong and fragrant, with aromas of ripe red fruit, blackberry, and black cherry, notes of violet, spices, vanilla, toasted coffee, and light balsamic hints. On the palate, it is elegant and harmonious, lively and fresh. The tannins are firm but ripe and well-integrated. It is full and persistent with a marked mineral vein and a balanced acidity. The finish is long and recalls spicy and balsamic notes. It is a wine of great personality and gives its best when paired with game and braised red meat.
