Golden in color, this wine opens in a rich, tropical nose of crème brûlée, spun sugar and mango. With tempered oak it shows a lift of acidity that keeps it structured and bright throughout the robust style.\n \n Producer Information\n Miner Family Vineyards is California winery and brand that began as a custom crush label made in the Oakville AVA (American Viticultural Area). Today, it produces a wide range of wines, although its reputation is built on the popular Napa Valley varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Chardonnay. The label was established in the mid-1990s by Emily and Dave Miner. Originally, the duo were purchasing fruit from and vinifying it at Oakville Ranch until they purchased the winery in 1999. In 2016, the Emily's, a eponymous wine in remembrance of Emily who lost her battle with cancer in 2011. The flagship wine, a Bordeaux-style blend called the Oracle, had its inaugural vintage in 2001. It is a Cabernet Sauvignon-dominant blend that spends 22 months barrel-aging in French oak barrels prior to bottling. The remaining Miner Family portfolio is broadly divided into four categories based on the varieties used: Bordeaux-style, Burgundy-style, Rhône-style and a fourth miscellaneous selection that includes Tempranillo and Sangiovese. Miner owns no vineyards of its own but has long-term buying agreements with vineyards in a number of appellations and sub-appellations that are designated on the wines' labels. These include Napa Valley, Santa Lucia Highlands, Carneros, Sierra Foothills and Oakville.
