Delaforce’s history in the Douro Valley dates back nearly 200 years when the family arrived from the England in 1834 and eventually founded the Delaforce Port firm in 1868. Between 1894 and 1906 George Delaforce had a warrant to supply Port wine to the Portuguese Royal Household, a rare honor for a non-Portuguese citizen. The company still uses the royal coat of arms on the label. Almost every port style is represented in the Delaforce range of wines which are sold throughout the world. Over the years, Delaforce has developed a reputation for its outstanding blending and aging skills which express themselves in the company’s renowned aged tawny ports.
