Founded in 2008, Brack Mountain Wine Company is a next generation focused on producing hand-crafted, premium wines sourced from the best growers, offered at a fair price. The is located in Sebastopol, California and our Enos Estate Vineyards and wine cave is located in the Dry Creek Valley, Healdsburg, California.
Great vineyards along with expert and sustainable growing practices are essential to making great wine. Brack Mountain is honored to partner with many of the best growers in the business. They work closely with them to source grapes capable of producing exceptional wines.
Site location, soil, microclimate, sun exposure, vine orientation, slope, altitude, underlying rock – all of these factors contribute to the selection of fruit for each of the wines they offer. The vineyards below are some of the most sought-after sites in the country, and their winemaker's most critical task is making certain each finds its voice in the wines.
SUSTAINABILITY
As a next generation wine company, we think very literally about “the next generation”. Simply put, we want to leave the earth in better shape than how we found it. So at Brack Mountain Wine Company, sustainability is more than a “nice to have”...it’s a business imperative. We are committed to sustainable practices‐‐ whether in the vineyard, at the , in the office or on the road. This means doing a lot of little things differently, and a few big things that insure that we continue to reduce our carbon footprint while creating great wines that are accessible to everyone.
Some of the little things we do add up to make a big difference. The vast majority of our wines have just one label, no foil (pretty, but wasteful), renewable corks in our aged wines, recyclable screwcaps for wines to be consumed in their youth. Brack Mountain Wine Company is solar powered, and our wine storage takes place underground, in our cave, keeping barrels and finished wine at the perfect temperature and humidity, with ZERO carbon footprint‐‐ no electricity or gas needed!
In the vineyard, we till our pruned vines back into the soil to sustain a good level of organic matter, and we plant cover crops to add nutrients and organic matter back into the soil, while also helping to conserve the precious water supply.
We’ve placed bluebird boxes throughout the vineyards to encourage nesting of this beautiful songbird that also controls insects, and Owl boxes to help control pests like gophers and moles. Finally, for our visits to our wine accounts throughout California, we drive a Hybrid, low‐ emission vehicle that’s the most fuel efficient on the market!
