This relatively new wine growing region (1998) is made up of the two regions of Szekszárd and Völgység. Grüner Veltliner is one of the most important white wine varieties in this region which encompasses 2.200 hectares of vineyards. The summers are generally dry with long sunshine hours and the winters mild.
