"The Kirchenstück is THE location in the Mittelhaardt. As early as 1828, it was given the highest score in the Bavarian soil classification. At the time, it was undisputed that this plot had a special status. This has not changed to this day.\nTo be able to call a few square meters of the 3.7 hectares your own is the dream of every Forster winegrower. A stone wall and the nearby buildings surround about half of the Kirchenstück and ensure a unique microclimate. The walls store the warmth of the day and in the late evening hours ensure an air flow that counteracts the cool air.\n\nThe interaction of the special microclimate with the soil mixture of weathered red sandstone, limestone rubble, clay, loam and sand is the icing on the cake in producing special, unique wines. The wines from the Kirchenstück are complex, full of finesse, dense and very long-lasting. And certainly one of the best wines in Germany.\n\nThe church site belonged to the Prince-Bishopric of Speyer for a long time and was also called Kirchenbuckel until the beginning of the 19th century. It most likely got its name from the Forster Church, which is directly adjacent to the site."
